Charley Stone

Charley Stone

The fabulous Charley Stone - ex-Frantic Spiders, ex-Salad, ex-Gay Dad, now playing and writing with Spy '51.

She's usually a guitarist, but she played bass with us on the Don't Forget EP as well as two gigs in 1997.

Chris Phillips Loretta Cubberly-Gomis

Chris and Loretta

Chris and Loretta were kindred spirits. They were regularly promoting shows, and we linked up with them to put on the Piao festival, as it was too big an idea for Tammy and Jennifer to achieve on their own.

Chris has gone from running the Piao label to working for a charity. Loretta has been seen dancing with The Actionettes and Gina Birch, and is planning a move to Japan.

Dale Shaw

Dale Shaw

Bloodsausage frontman, writer, and MC for The Make Up, Dale Shaw shared a flat with Jen and Tam in the days before Linus.
We had an early song called 'Chipping', Dale.

Dale's been in the States for several years, singing and writing with The Lies (there's a couple of mp3s of them there, if you want to check 'em out).

Ed Whatley

Ed

Briefly Linus' reluctant manager, Ed started Mole In The Ground Records.

Now he has branched off to run his successful club nite SOUL MOLE.

He is tall.

Gary and Sharon Denitto

Gary Denitto

Gary, Jen and Tam's dad, performs on the title track of Yougli.
He loves to travel, and speaks French, German, and Mandarin.

He and their mom, Sharon, appear on the cover of the Wiiija single and live in Florida. Sharon is a committed Vietnam POW/MIA supporter, and she volunteers regularly at the 'Moving Wall' memorial tribute.

Ian Shaw

Ian Shaw

Ian has recorded most Linus releases. He's the best (i.e. nicest, most attentive, thorough, diplomatic and hard-working) engineer we've come across. He's also recorded/produced Nick Heyward, Ed Ball, the Would-be-Goods, and Huggy Bear, among many others.

He sold his self-built studio a while back, and now works freelance while managing and playing with the band Virginia.

Jenni Scott

Jenni Scott

Jenni fronted the money for the four-track Andy R writes on, among many other things.

She is a founder of Caption, Oxford's long-running annual underground comics and media event. She works for Oxford University Press and has many diverse interests.
Jenni is part Brazilian, and speaks Portugese.

Jim Davies

Jim Davies

Jim paid part of the recording costs for Don't Forget, and helped with this website in its early stages.
We consider Jim to be Linus' patron.

He is a computer science lecturer at Oxford University.

Jim Irvin

Jim and Sally

Jim Irvin and his partner Sally Still released the first Linus record on their label, Bone, in 1993. Jim worked closely with us on every recording we made up to and including Yougli, and he can be heard playing piano on You're Corroded and singing back-ups on Adolesce. He has been an editor at Mojo magazine and co-wrote some of the songs on Gay Dad's Leisure Noise album. Sally is a very intelligent and mysterious lady. They were both in the band Furniture in the mid-80's.
Rich Holden Darryl Cunningham

Rich and Darryl

Rich Holden and Darryl Cunningham, the two stars of the first track on Yougli, are two tall cartoonists who live in Buckley, Clwyd. The song describes a car ride back to their place after a gig in Wigan in 1993.

Rich later discovered his real dad's surname was Starbuck and adopted it as his own.
Darryl makes strange angular sculptures using small folded strips of paper.

Sophie Sherwood

Sophie Sherwood

Sophie was the cover star of our Supercool EP. The record was not released, but you can see the sleeve design in our discography.

Sophie likes Zombina and the Skeletones, The Pixies, Nirvana, Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, QOTSA, System of a Down, Bad Religion, REM, the Beatles, Blur, and the Monkees.
